Meet Expectations
All athletes need to be prepared for their events. If you sign up for certain events you are responsible for participating in those specific events and reporting to them on time! You are encouraged to cheer on all other athletes from Inver Grove Heights during the entire meet. You are expected to stay for the entire meet (even after your events) and strongly recommended to ride the bus home with the teammates. If for some reason you need to leave the meet early, you must have a parent come and sign you out with a coach. You are NOT allowed to leave with anyone but your own parents. The locker room will not be open until after home meets. If for some reason you need to leave a home meet early, you must bring everything you need to bring home out to the track. Custodians will not open up locker rooms.

You live in Minnesota! Anticipate snow, cold, wind or rain everyday. Be prepared to add or remove layers of clothing to stay comfortable. When we go to the meet, you must be dressed appropriately for the weather. If not, you will NOT be allowed to board the bus. Possible clothing includes hats, jackets, thermal socks, gloves/mittens, sweat pants, long underwear, tights, wind proof shell and running shoes (if it’s warm enough out, shorts and t-shirts are okay).

Making sure we are prepared for meets will improve performances and make competition a better experience for athletes.

Our meet on the 28th is a full meet with field events. I estimate we will be back at the school by about 7:15pm, but can never be sure how long a track meet will run. Here is a map to the meet venue. Come support the team!

Practice is Canceled Today, April 19th

The Middle School Track team will not practice today because of the cold weather and rain/snow forecast. We will have indoor facilities to practice in tomorrow in the event weather makes outdoor practice too difficult.

We did have several cold athletes at the meet yesterday. Please help your child dress for the weather. (I'd rather be giving reminders to bring sunscreen.)
