A Special H20 Walk for Life Practice on Thursday April 26th.

Our track team will be joining the Simley International Club, and the Simley Spanish Club to participate in an H20 Walk for Life on our home track this week.  Our goal is to provide our athletes a chance to give back.  We hope to raise both awareness and money to build wells in third world nations. Here's a link to our page.
Practice is mandatory and donations are encouraged.

Students will be walking/running 3 miles taking turns carrying a jug of water to understand what other kids there age do instead of attending school.

The Issue

There is an urgent need for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in schools and communities around the world. Consider these facts:
  • Every 15 seconds a child dies from lack of access to clean water.
  • Women and children in many communities spend up to 60 percent of each day walking to collect water.
  • 4,500 children die each day due to unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation.
  • Without access to a latrine, many girls stop going to school once they reach puberty.
